Applications for our 2022 Cohort are now officially open!

The OPS Programme

It is our belief that one of the biggest advantages of private school comes via access to opportunities and the early stage exposure you get to the professional world. This early stage exposure can make all the difference, providing the knowledge to confidently take that first step onto the ladder. We have made it our mission to provide these opportunities for all young adults.

We aim to achieve this via a tailored mentoring programme. We connect highly experienced industry professionals to young adults from state schools who simply do not have that natural exposure to the business world. Our talented students will benefit from the advice of and gain confidence from their top professional mentor.

2021 Cohort Applications are now closed. Register your interest for our next cohort below.

How it Works

Over a six month period, you will develop a relationship with your mentor through a series of interactions, including meetings, phone calls and events. Upon ‘graduation’, the mentor, mentees and the OPS team will come together for reflection. We estimate it will be an approximate commitment for both parties of eight hours over the six months

Why we are doing this

We all believe that disadvantage begins through a lack of finance but survives through a lack of exposure. The Open Private School seeks to redress the imbalance, by giving students from disadvantaged schools exposure to world leading experts in their industry of interest.

“The delicate balance of mentoring someone is not creating them in your own image, but giving them the opportunity to create themselves”
